What Are You Looking For?
What Are You Hoping to Change?
People come to Rolfing® Structural Integration for many different reasons.
You may have a specific area that has bothered you for years. You may be recovering from an injury, trying to improve athletic performance, or simply feel that your body does not move the way it used to.
You may notice changes in your posture, flexibility, breathing, balance, or coordination.
Or you may not have a specific problem at all—you may simply want to understand your body better and discover what greater freedom of movement feels like.
Whatever brings you through the door, Rolfing® looks beyond the immediate symptom and considers how the different parts of your body are organized in relationship to one another, movement, connective tissue, and gravity.
Choose the area that best describes what you are looking for.
Pain & Tension
Looking for Relief From Persistent Pain or Tension?
Many people seek Rolfing® because they have been dealing with recurring tension, stiffness, or discomfort.
This may include:
- Back or neck discomfort
- Shoulder tension
- Hip discomfort
- Headaches or migraines
- Sciatica
- Muscle tension
- General stiffness
- Longstanding patterns of discomfort
Rolfing® does not simply focus on the location where you feel the problem.
The practitioner looks at how the rest of the body may be contributing to the way that area is functioning.

Posture
Want to Improve the Way You Stand and Carry Yourself?
Posture is more than simply standing up straight.
It is the relationship between your feet, legs, pelvis, spine, rib cage, shoulders, neck, and head—and how all of these structures organize themselves within gravity.
Years of habitual movement, injury, work, athletics, and everyday life can influence these relationships.
Rolfing® Structural Integration takes a whole-body approach to posture and structural organization rather than simply trying to force one part of the body into a different position.

Athletic Performance
Want to Move More Efficiently?
Athletes ask a lot from their bodies.
Training, repetitive movement, previous injuries, strength imbalances, and highly developed movement patterns can all influence how an athlete moves.
Philip's background includes extensive experience working with athletes in a sports-medicine environment, including runners, powerlifters, martial artists, dancers, yogis, CrossFit athletes, and other competitive and recreational athletes.
Rolfing® can help athletes explore:
Movement efficiency
Coordination
Range of motion
Body awareness
Structural organization
Recovery and movement following previous injuries

Injury Recovery
Has an Injury Changed the Way You Move?
An injury does not always stop affecting movement when the original injury has healed.
People often develop compensations to protect an injured area.
Those compensations can eventually become habitual ways of standing, walking, breathing, or moving.
Philip has extensive experience working with people following sports injuries, automobile accidents, whiplash, sprains, strains, tendon and ligament injuries, disc problems, and other physical injuries.
He also has personal experience recovering from a serious automobile injury.
Rolfing® may provide another perspective on the structural and movement patterns that develop around an injury, when appropriate alongside other medical care.

Movement & Flexibility
Want Greater Freedom of Movement?
Sometimes the problem isn't simply that a muscle feels tight.
You may feel restricted when you walk, squat, reach, rotate, bend, breathe, exercise, or perform everyday movements.
Rolfing® looks at how different areas of the body relate to one another and how connective-tissue relationships can influence movement.
Through hands-on work and movement education, the process can help you become more aware of habitual patterns and explore new movement possibilities.

The Ten-Series
Interested in the Original Rolfing® Experience?
The Original Ten-Series is the traditional foundation of Rolfing® Structural Integration developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf.
It is a progressive sequence rather than ten unrelated bodywork sessions.
Each session has a specific purpose and prepares the body for the work that follows.
The series progressively explores the relationships between the body's major regions, helping develop greater structural integration, movement awareness, and organization within gravity.
If you are interested in experiencing Rolfing® as the complete system developed from Dr. Rolf's work, the Ten-Series is the place to begin.

Not Sure Which One Fits You?
You don't have to know exactly what is causing your problem before contacting us.
Many people simply know that:
“Something doesn't feel right.”

You may have tried massage, chiropractic care, physical therapy, stretching, exercise, or other approaches and still feel that something is missing.
Or you may simply want to move better and understand your body more completely.
That's where a whole-body approach can be useful.
Your body is interconnected.
The area that hurts may not be the only area that matters.
Start With What You Want to Change
Whether you're looking for relief from tension, better posture, improved athletic performance, recovery following an injury, greater freedom of movement, or the complete Ten-Series, Rolfing® Structural Integration provides a systematic way to explore how your body is organized and how it moves.
